Pakistan’s power sector is undergoing a structural transformation — and the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA-G) sits at the centre of that change. It is the organisation that manages electricity procurement on behalf of all distribution companies across Pakistan, runs the billing and settlement systems between power generators and distributors, and is responsible for developing the competitive electricity market that Pakistan’s energy reform agenda depends on.
This is not a routine government hiring cycle. CPPA-G has announced 23 positions for engineers, finance professionals, IT specialists, and network engineers — all based in Islamabad. The roles span two seniority levels: Assistant Manager (requiring 3 years of experience) and Junior Executive (fresh graduates welcome). There is also one specialised Assistant Network Engineer post for a candidate with 5 years of hands-on data centre experience.
CPPA-G offers competitive, market-based salary packages alongside professional growth opportunities and exposure to national and international power sector work. For engineers and finance professionals looking to build a career in Pakistan’s energy sector — specifically in power market operations rather than generation or distribution — CPPA-G is one of the most directly relevant employers in the country.
Applications are submitted by post through the OTS (Open Testing Service) in Islamabad. The written test passing threshold is 60%. The last date is June 7, 2026.

Most people working in Pakistan’s power sector know the generation companies (GENCOs), the distribution companies (DISCOs), and NTDC. Fewer know CPPA-G — but it is arguably the most central node in the entire system.
Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA-G) is a company incorporated under the Companies Ordinance 1984 and wholly owned by the Government of Pakistan. Since June 2015, CPPA-G has assumed the business of NTDC pertaining to market operations and is presently functioning as the Market Operator in accordance with NEPRA Market Operator Rules 2015.
In simple terms: every time electricity is generated by a power plant in Pakistan, CPPA-G is the entity that manages how that electricity is purchased from the generator, how it is billed to the distribution companies that deliver it to your home, and how settlements between all these parties are calculated and executed. It is the financial and operational clearing house for Pakistan’s entire power market.
The organisation is non-profit, government-owned, and operates from Islamabad. CPPA-G offers health insurance, earned leave, and a workplace focused on professional growth and innovation. For engineers and finance professionals specifically interested in the energy sector, the exposure at CPPA-G — dealing directly with power procurement contracts, market settlement systems, and energy regulatory frameworks — is genuinely different from what you would get at a power generation or distribution company.
For someone early in their power sector career — particularly a fresh graduate joining as a Junior Executive — CPPA-G’s learning curve is genuinely steep and valuable. People learn and get significant exposure due to CPPA-G’s role in the power sector, though some then move on to companies offering higher salaries. It is the kind of organisation where the CV value is high even if you eventually move elsewhere.
If you are a fresh engineering graduate, the Junior Executive Technical post (4 seats) is your best entry point. Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, and Mechatronics engineers all qualify. At CPPA-G, even a junior technical role gives you direct exposure to power procurement contracts and market operations that you simply cannot get at most other organisations at the entry level.
If you are a finance professional with CA/ACCA/ICMA, the Assistant Manager Finance role (6 seats, largest allocation in the AM category) is written for your profile. Three years of relevant experience in a reputable national or multinational organisation is required. Power sector experience is listed as a plus — meaning candidates without it are still eligible, but those with it will score higher.
If you are an IT specialist in Oracle EBS, the AM IT Oracle EBS HRMS & Payroll post (1 seat) is highly specialised. Very few candidates in Pakistan have deep Oracle EBS HRMS implementation experience. If you are one of them, the competition for this seat is genuinely narrow. Read the full TOR on the CPPA-G website before applying.
If you have 5+ years of data centre operations experience, the Assistant Network Engineer post (1 seat, age up to 45 years) is the only post in this advertisement that accepts 14 years of education and up to 45 years of age. It is a specialist role for someone who has spent years managing UPS systems, HVAC, CCTV, cabling, and network infrastructure in a data centre environment. If that is your background, apply without hesitation.
This is a physical application by post, not an online form submission. The process has several specific steps that must be followed in order.
Before downloading the application form, visit ots.org.pk and cppa.gov.pk and read the complete Terms of Reference (TORs) / Job Descriptions for the position you want to apply for. The advertisement explicitly instructs candidates to read TORs before applying. CPPA-G will reject applications from candidates whose qualifications or experience do not match the detailed TOR requirements, which are more specific than the summary in the advertisement.
Go to ots.org.pk and download the prescribed application form and online deposit slip for the CPPA-G 2026 recruitment. Do not use any other form — only the OTS-prescribed form will be accepted. Also, download and print the online deposit slip, which you will need for the processing fee payment.
Complete every field in the application form. Your name should match your CNIC exactly. Academic qualifications must be entered with institution name, year of completion, and degree title as printed on your transcript. Experience details must include employer name, designation, and exact duration. Any false or incomplete information can lead to disqualification at any stage — including after employment.
Assemble attested photocopies of: all educational certificates and transcripts, professional certifications (CA, ACCA, ICMA, CFA, et.), experience certificates from each employer, CNIC, domicile certificate, and NOC from current employer if you are in government service. Also include the completed online deposit slip as proof of fee payment.
Use the deposit slip downloaded from OTS to pay the prescribed processing fee. Payment details and the bank/method will be specified on the OTS deposit slip. Retain your payment receipt and include it with your postal application. OTS will not process applications without the deposit slip or proof of fee payment.
Send your complete application package by post (TCS, Leopards, or Pakistan Post registered) to: Manager Operations, OTS, Office No. 1, Central Avenue Road, Bahria Town Phase 6, Islamabad. Dispatch at least 4–5 days before June 7 to account for delivery time. OTS explicitly states they are not responsible for late receipt due to postal delays — the risk of late delivery is entirely yours. Keep your courier receipt as proof of dispatch.
