NADRA runs one of the most complex and mission-critical IT infrastructures in Pakistan — a nationwide network that processes biometric data, issues CNIC documents, maintains the national identity database, powers real-time verification systems, and supports government services across the country. When NADRA advertises network engineering and infrastructure roles at the Assistant Director level, they are not hiring general IT staff. They are looking for people who can own and operate production systems on a national scale.
The National Database and Registration Authority has announced three Assistant Director positions for its Lahore operations: Network Engineer (Media), responsible for nationwide WAN connectivity and ISP coordination; Infrastructure Engineer, covering servers, storage, virtualization, and system administration; and Network Engineer (Core Networks), handling Layer 2/3 switching, core firewalls, IDS/IPS, and 24/7 network operations. All three are posted in Lahore.
The salary range — PKR 175,000 to PKR 250,000 per month — reflects the Assistant Director grade and the technical depth required. For experienced network and infrastructure engineers looking to move from the private sector into a structured, large-scale government technology organization, this is a meaningful opportunity. The age limit is a maximum of 37 years, which already includes five years of general age relaxation.
Applications close June 7, 2026. Online only at careers.nadra.gov.pk. Read the full article before submitting — the HEC degree attestation requirement and the specific skill sets for each post are important to get right.

What This Role Covers: This is NADRA’s WAN and ISP coordination role. The “Media” in the title refers to transmission media — the physical and logical infrastructure connecting NADRA’s hundreds of offices across Pakistan. The person in this role manages nationwide WAN connectivity, works with ISPs on bandwidth upgrades, handles RFQs (Requests for Quotations), RFPs (Requests for Proposals), and BoQs (Bills of Quantities) for network procurement, creates network diagrams and documentation, performs routing and network configuration, and conducts data analysis and performance reporting.

Qualification: 4-year Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent from an HEC-recognized university. Degree must be HEC-attested.
Experience Required: Preferably 3 years of relevant experience in infrastructure management.
What This Role Covers: This is the server, storage, and virtualization role. The Infrastructure AD designs, deploys, and maintains NADRA’s server and storage environment — including Linux, Windows, and Unix systems, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), enterprise web and application servers, backup and disaster recovery systems, and monitoring infrastructure. Scripting and automation, system hardening, patch management, and security compliance are all within scope.
Minimum 3 Years Experience | Age: Max 37
Qualification: 4-year Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecom Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent from an HEC-recognized university. Degree must be HEC-attested.
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years of experience in network operations.
What This Role Covers: This is the core network security and operations role. The Core Networks AD manages NADRA’s Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching infrastructure, core firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), bandwidth monitoring, Quality of Service (QoS) configuration, and SLA monitoring. Incident management, RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processes, infrastructure standards, backup and restoration verification, information security tasks, vendor SLA management, and 24/7 network support are all within scope.
The National Database and Registration Authority is Pakistan’s national identity infrastructure authority — one of the most technologically complex government organizations in the country. NADRA issues CNICs, passports, B-Form registrations, and a range of other national identity documents. It maintains the national identity database — a biometric and demographic record of Pakistan’s entire registered population — and operates real-time verification services used by banks, telecoms, government departments, and private sector organizations across the country.
NADRA’s IT infrastructure is genuinely at a national scale. Hundreds of registration offices across Pakistan are connected through a WAN infrastructure. Biometric data processing, identity verification APIs, document issuance systems, and database management all run on NADRA’s servers and networks simultaneously. The organization has consistently been ranked among Pakistan’s more technically advanced government institutions, with investment in biometric systems, data center infrastructure, and digital service delivery that is significantly ahead of most other federal agencies.
For a network or infrastructure engineer, working at NADRA means operating production systems that are genuinely mission-critical — downtime has real consequences for citizens trying to access government services. The exposure to large-scale WAN management, national data center operations, and information security at an institutional level is the kind of career experience that is difficult to replicate elsewhere in Pakistan’s government sector.

Go to careers.nadra.gov.pk — NADRA’s official careers portal. This is the only valid application channel. No physical, email, or postal applications will be considered. Use Google Chrome or Firefox on a desktop for the most reliable experience with government career portals.
Create an account or log in if you have previously applied through NADRA careers. Use your CNIC and a valid, active email address. This email will receive all communications about shortlisting, test dates, and interview schedule — check it regularly and verify it is not going to spam.
Three separate positions are advertised: Network Engineer (Media), Infrastructure, and Network Engineer (Core Networks). Select the specific post that matches your skills and experience background. Review the required skills for each post carefully — applying for a role whose skill requirements your profile does not match is a shortlisting filter that will eliminate your application early.
Fill in all required fields: personal information (name as per CNIC, date of birth, CNIC number), education (institution, degree title, year, CGPA/marks, HEC attestation status), and work experience (employer name, designation, exact dates, key responsibilities). NADRA verifies all information at shortlisting — any false or inaccurate information results in disqualification or employment termination.
The advertisement specifically instructs applicants to “review the selected post, eligibility, experience, documents, and entered information carefully before final online submission.” Once submitted, you typically cannot edit a completed government portal application. Confirm your selected post, verify all dates and qualifications are correctly entered, and check that your age on June 7, 2026, is within the 37-year maximum.
Submit your application before the deadline. If you are currently serving in any government or semi-government organization, you must also provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer, required at the test or interview stage. Begin the NOC process at your current organization immediately upon applying to ensure it is ready when needed.
Online applications only. Salary PKR 175,000–250,000/month. Posting: Lahore.
