When Pakistan’s retired military personnel transition to civilian life, the Pakistan Armed Services Board (PASB) and its network of Provincial Armed Services Boards (PASBs) and District Armed Services Boards (DASBs) are the primary institutional bridge — administering welfare, resettlement, and employment services for ex-servicemen and their families across the country.
The PASB Secretariat, operating under the Ministry of Defence in Rawalpindi, has announced 48 vacancies across nine post categories. These are permanent government civilian posts reserved entirely for retired Pakistan Army, Navy, and PAF personnel. The pay scales range from BPS-1 (support staff) to BPS-15 (Assistant) — and the postings span the PASB Secretariat itself, provincial PASB offices, and a network of District Armed Services Boards across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Each post has a specific retired rank requirement. JCOs can apply for Assistant (BPS-15). Havildar Clerks apply for UDC (BPS-13). Naik/Lance Naik/Sepoy Clerks apply for LDC (BPS-11). And retired soldiers with Matric qualification are eligible for Naib Qasid, Chowkidar, Mali, and Sanitary Worker posts. Applications go by post — no online submission — to the Director (HR), PASB Secretariat, Rawalpindi. The deadline is within 15 days of June 9, making the cutoff approximately June 24, 2026.

Pakistan Armed Services Board (PASB) is a federal organisation operating under the Ministry of Defence with a mandate to administer the welfare, resettlement, and support services for retired and serving personnel of Pakistan’s armed forces and their families. The PASB network includes the central PASB Secretariat in Rawalpindi, four Provincial Armed Services Boards (Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan), and a network of District Armed Services Boards (DASBs) across Pakistan’s districts.
The services provided through this network include employment facilitation for ex-servicemen, educational institution administration (army schools and colleges), land and property management, welfare grants, and coordination with government and private employers for ex-servicemen job placement. The organisation employs its own administrative and support staff — which is what these 48 vacancies represent.
For retired armed forces personnel, joining PASB as a civilian employee has a distinctive appeal: the institutional environment is familiar, the organisational culture is structured and disciplined, the welfare benefits are government-standard, and the work directly serves the community of fellow retired service personnel. Many retired JCOs and NCOs view PASB employment as a natural and comfortable second career within a familiar institutional framework.
Posting locations span PASB Secretariat, Provincial Boards, and District Armed Services Boards across Pakistan. The advertisement lists different posting destinations per post: Assistants are posted to District Armed Services Boards across multiple provinces. UDC posts are at PASB Secretariat, Rawalpind, i and DASBs in Islamabad, Jhelum, Gujrat, Bhimber, and Narowal. Naib Qasids are spread across Punjab, Rawalpindi, Gilgit-Baltistan, and multiple DASBs. When filling your application form, mention the correct post name and place of vacancy as instructed in the advertisement.
